Kurt Cobain, the lead singer of the 90’s grunge rock band, Nirvana, was at the height of popularity when he tragically took his life in 1994. After his untimely death, his aunt, Mari Earl, felt compelled to share that family’s story with the fans he had left behind. Since then she has been doing just that by delivering her message, “Life…Its Worth It!” to thousands of people every year. A singer/song writer and professional musician, Mari retired from the performing circuit in 1990. She has been featured in People magazine, on KING TV’s Evening Magazine in Seattle, and has been interviewed for numerous books and magazine articles. Mari will be coming to Cortland all the way from Seattle Washington in early November to deliver her message of hope to local audiences. She will be giving a performance at SUNY Cortland’s Brown Auditorium (Old Main) at 7pm on Tuesday November 3rd. Her second performance will be at 7pm on Wednesday November 4th at the County Auditorium (60 Central Ave. in Cortland). Both performances are open to the public and free of charge. For information and/or directions to these venues please contact the Cortland Youth Bureau at (607) 753-3021 or visit
