Much more pleasant air has made its way into our area, and will provide a welcome respite from the hot and sticky first 10 days of July. Skies will clear tonight, and with light north-northeast winds, temperatures will drop back to near 60. It’ll be a comfortable night for sleep.
Friday will be the most comfortable day we’ve experienced in quite some time with low humidity and temperatures near 80°. High clouds will mix in with the sun during the afternoon, but no precipitation is expected. It’ll be the first of many dry days for us, providing a great opportunity for farmers to get out and get some haying done. As we head into the weekend, temperatures and humidity will be on the rise as a strong ridge of fair weather high pressure works its way into the Northeast.
With the ridge in control, it will be warm and humid starting Saturday, lasting through at least mid-week. Temperatures look to exceed 90° starting Sunday, leading to an old fashioned heat wave (3 or more days of 90°+ temperatures) for us, as if we hadn’t had enough of the heat and humidity lately.
