One more day of heat for Friday
Updated 11:28 pm Thursday
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Another hot day is expected on Friday, in fact, the hottest day of this current stretch. Temperatures are expect to be in the mid 90s which means Syracuse will challenge the record high of 97 set in 1946.
This would make it 6 straight days of reaching or exceeding 90 degrees. Along with the heat, it will remain humid as well. Heat advisories are posted for all of central New York Friday as it will feel like 100 degrees. If there is a small consolation on Friday, we do expect a steady southwest breeze.
Any showers and thunderstorms will be scattered Friday with a better chance of rain and thunder coming Friday night as a cold front approaches the region. This cold front will start to bring relief with cooler temperatures and lower humidities over the weekend.
