Thursday Morning July 29, 2010

A cold front will pass through central New York early Thursday bringing with it a change to a drier air mass. Thursday should feature a mix of sun and clouds with highs around 80.  Some energy clipping the northern part of the state late Thursday afternoon in the jet stream may spark a shower but for the most part, we should be dry today.  It looks like the greatest chance for any scattered showers will come over areas north of Syracuse; say the Tug Hill and the Adirondacks.

Friday and Saturday also look pleasant with highs generally in the upper 70s to around 80 and mostly sunny skies as that dry air mass remains over us.

The next jet stream disturbance will be dropping southeast through the Great Lakes Saturday and will move through central New York Sunday.  That should mean at least a few scattered thunderstorms for the end of the weekend.
